The Department of Arts and Culture wishes to communicate the following update on the District General Meetings towards the upcoming CCIFSA National Elective Conference. The meetings will convene in all provinces and are open to all artists. The meetings for district general meetings will take place between 28 February 2019 and 01 March 2019, the focus of the DGMs is to discuss the draft Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI) and election of delegates to Provincial Summits. The provincial summits are scheduled to take place in the weeks beginning Monday 4th, 11th and 18th of March 2019.
Attendees to all stipulated meetings are required to have completed an attendance form and attach a copy of their Identity Documents. The final date of submission for these attendance forms is Sunday, 24th February 2019. The form is available on the Department of Arts and Culture website at www.dac.gov.za and the link for the attached form is: http://www.dac.gov.za/content/updates-upcoming-ccifsa-national-elective-conference, the form should; after completion be emailed to CCIFSAConference@dac.gov.za
It is important to note that NO late applications will be allowed and Artists can only participate in one sector for the purposes of this conference.
At the DGMs, participants must elect two (2) delegates per sector that equal to eighteen (18) delegates from each district, except metros. At the metro DGMs participants must elect four (4) delegates per sector that equal to thirty six (36) delegates from each metro.
These delegates are the ones who will attend Provincial summits. At the Provincial summits, the elected representatives from districts and metros will elect three (3) delegates per sector which equal to twenty seven (27) delegates per province. Therefore, it means that the National Conference will be constituted by twenty seven (27) delegates per province, thus making a total of two hundred and forty three (243). The National General Conference members elected at the 2015 CCIFSA Conference, will participate fully at the conference. Thus the total number of voting delegates to the CCIFSA National Conference is three hundred and forty three (343). The national conference will be held on 28 to 29 March 2019 at a setting still to be identified and communicated at a later stage. The table below reflects delegates to the National Conference:
